A three-day professional rodeo opens Friday at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Green Cove Springs. The Clay County Pro Rodeo, sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, runs through Sunday at the Cattlemen's Arena.

Show Times Vary by Day, With Sunday Matinee

Friday and Saturday evening shows begin at 7:30 p.m., with gates opening at 4 p.m. Sunday's show, billed as "Super Bull Sunday," shifts to a matinee with gates at noon and bull riding at 2:30 p.m.

County Commissioner Promotes Event on Social Media

Clay County Commissioner John Sgromolo, who represents District 1 covering Fleming Island, Doctors Inlet and Lakeside, wrote in a Wednesday post on X: "It's RODEO TIME in Clay County! This weekend at the Clay County Fairgrounds come on out to see three days of Pro Rodeo action!"

Rodeo Events Include Bronc Riding, Roping and Barrel Racing

Friday and Saturday competitions include bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling and women's barrel racing, according to a Clay Today community calendar listing. Sunday's card focuses on bull riding and barrel racing.

Beyond the arena, all three days feature mutton busting, trick riding, food trucks, vendors, children's games, mechanical bull riding, pony rides, music and exhibitions.

Ticket Prices Range From $15 Presale to $35 Reserved Seats

Pre-sale general admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 4 to 12. Reserved seats cost $35. Tickets at the gate are $20 for general admission. Pre-sale tickets are available online through TicketLeap.

All seating is general admission. Strollers are welcome, and the venue is handicap accessible. No outside food or drinks are permitted.
