More than 35 nonprofits and community organizations will fill Orange Park Mall's Center Court on Friday, Sept. 4, for the free Hello From the 904: Community Celebration.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1910 Wells Road. Attendees can pick up a "904 Passport" at the DJ station and visit interactive stops throughout the mall featuring community partners, giveaways and live music, according to the mall's event page.
The Rolling Gems are scheduled to perform at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Veterans groups on the participant list include American Legion Post #373, the Veterans Council of Clay County and Veterans Village of Northeast Florida. Youth and literacy organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, Clay County Early Literacy Inc. and Sparkle Feathers Literacy. Animal welfare group Clay Humane, the Clay County Rescue Mission, Quigley House and the Historical Society of Orange Park are also confirmed.
The GFWC Orange Park Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs member based at 130 Kingsley Ave. in Orange Park, confirmed on its website that it will join the celebration as part of a membership outreach effort.
Other participants include Challenge Enterprises, Goodwill North Florida, the Orange Park Lions Club, Gateway Community Services, the Art Guild of Orange Park, the African American Historical Society of Clay County and the Clay Education Foundation.
Orange Park Mall promoted the event in a Facebook post, calling it a celebration of the nonprofits and local connections that define the 904 area.
