Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook announced Oct. 24 that her agency had received its fifth Excelsior Award.

“Every day our team works hard to maintain the highest standards of excellence and professionalism,” Cook wrote in a post on her official account. “Proudly serving our community with honor and courage.”

The Excelsior designation is part of Florida’s law enforcement accreditation program. Information about the program and its standards is available from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
