A free runway show is coming to Orange Park Mall on Saturday, Sept. 26, marking the first time Florida Fashion Week has staged an event at the Wells Road shopping center.

The show runs from 3 to 7 p.m. in Center Court, directly in front of Dillard's. Seating is first-come, first-served, and no tickets or registration are required, Action News Jax reported.

Local and emerging designers from across Florida will walk the runway alongside national brands. Dillard's of Orange Park is the headlining brand, showcasing lines including Polo Ralph Lauren, Steve Madden, Tommy Bahama and Vince Camuto. VyStar Credit Union is the event's founding sponsor.

Mall, fashion week leaders on the partnership

Orange Park Mall General Manager Randy Bowman called the mall a natural fit for the event.

"Orange Park Mall is a destination where generations of families and friends gather, making it the perfect setting for a shared experience that brings creative spirit to life," Bowman said.

Florida Fashion Week, a veteran- and woman-owned organization, was co-founded by Danielle Jiles and her husband, Jurrell. Jiles, the organization's owner and CEO, started modeling at age 19 and returned to the fashion industry after eight years in the U.S. Navy, according to the mall's press release published Friday, Sept. 18.

Jiles said the partnership with Orange Park Mall gives Florida Fashion Week a chance to bring its programming to a community setting and spotlight the state's regional fashion scene.

What else is happening at the event

Students and staff from Florida State College at Jacksonville will handle hair and makeup for the show's models, giving the college's cosmetology and styling students a hands-on role in a live production.

Beyond the runway, attendees can take part in photo opportunities and shop featured looks at stores throughout the mall during the afternoon.

The event takes place at Orange Park Mall, 1910 Wells Road. Doors open at 3 p.m.
