Creekside scored 31 unanswered points to erase a 17-point deficit and beat Fleming Island 45-31 on Friday, Aug. 28.

The Golden Eagles (1-1) controlled the game early. Junior Brady Digman took a Wildcat snap on the opening drive and scored to put Fleming Island up 7-0, chewing more than six minutes off the clock in the process. Digman found the end zone again on another Wildcat run in the third quarter to stretch the lead to 31-14 with 5:54 left in the period.

Then Creekside flipped the game.

Knights quarterback Rozzi Sperry connected with Timmy Goodrich on four touchdown passes as Creekside (2-0) stormed back, according to the Florida Times-Union. Blake Weeks added a rushing touchdown on a direct snap for the Knights. Fleming Island did not score again after Digman's third-quarter touchdown.

The win extends Creekside's winning streak in the rivalry to six games. It also evens the all-time series at 7-7, the first deadlock since Fleming Island held a lead after a 26-23 win in 2020. The Knights have won every meeting since 2021. The previous four matchups were decided by a combined 10 points, per News4JAX. Friday's 14-point final margin was the most decisive result in the series since Creekside's 26-0 win in 2021.

Digman, a two-sport standout who won district weightlifting titles at 183 pounds in April, was the engine of Fleming Island's offense before the collapse. His Wildcat runs kept Creekside's defense off-balance for nearly three quarters.

Creekside entered the game off a 21-14 upset of Nease in Week 1. Sperry went 14-of-21 for 158 yards and a touchdown in that opener. New defensive coordinator Aaron Lynch has the Knights' defense playing at a high level through two games.

Fleming Island opened the season with a 33-0 rout of Atlantic Coast in Week 1. Quarterback Greyson Critch threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Zion Longmire rushed for 150 yards and two scores.

The series with Creekside sits tied at 7-7 for the first time in six years.
