More than three dozen former Clay County high school athletes compete in college and pro sports the week of Sept. 7-13, according to the Clay County Times.

Fleming Island High School graduate Abram Wright headlines the slate. The senior linebacker and his Rutgers Scarlet Knights travel to Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass., to face Boston College on Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Rutgers enters at 0-1 after a 37-21 loss to UMass in the season opener on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Orange Park High School's Roderick Kearney, a junior offensive lineman wearing No. 71 for the Florida Gators, plays Saturday, Sept. 12. Florida hosts Campbell at 5:30 p.m. in Gainesville. The Gators rolled past Florida Atlantic 66-21 on Saturday, Sept. 5, before 90,295 fans at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, according to the official box score. Saturday's matchup marks the first meeting between Florida and Campbell.

On the opposite sideline, Middleburg High School's Kaleb Robison suits up as a freshman kicker for the Campbell Fighting Camels — two Clay County products on the same field, opposite sidelines.

Orange Park native Dane Dunning adds a professional baseball angle. The pitcher for the Tacoma Rainiers, Seattle's Triple-A affiliate, is listed by the Clay County Times for a start against the El Paso Chihuahuas on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 3:05 p.m. Dunning, a Clay Virtual Academy alumnus, is listed at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds by CBS Sports.

Braden Cunningham, a junior offensive lineman at Florida Atlantic, faces Navy at 7:30 p.m. Ethan Williams, an offensive lineman at Georgia Southern, faces Clemson at 7:30 p.m. T.J. Lawrence, a sophomore offensive lineman at South Florida, takes on Army at noon.

Cibastian Broughton, a freshman quarterback at Akron, faces Robert Morris at 3:30 p.m. Senior defensive back Dedric Walker and his Bryant Bulldogs play Hampton at 6:02 p.m. Senior running back Jhoel Robinson and Stetson host Bethune-Cookman at 4 p.m.

Orange Park alumni scattered across three games

Brian Green, a junior wide receiver at Gardner-Webb, faces Liberty at 5 p.m. Saturday. Five Orange Park graduates play for Webber International and face Campbellsville Saturday at 1:30 p.m.: quarterback Gabe Taylor, defensive back Jack Riveria, wide receiver Quinton Moore, offensive lineman Jeremiah Hamilton and defensive lineman Jayden Blanton.

Oakleaf and other Clay County-area players in action

Oakleaf High School sends four former players into Saturday action. Kaylib Singleton, a sophomore cornerback at Mississippi State, faces Minnesota at 2:30 p.m. Jack McKissock, a freshman quarterback at East Tennessee State, faces North Carolina at noon.

Reggie Houston, a sophomore offensive lineman at Wofford, faces Kent State at 11 a.m. Trace Burney, a freshman wide receiver at James Madison, faces Wagner at 3:30 p.m.
