Grace Episcopal Day School in Orange Park has moved its library from a portable building into a brick cottage built in 1948, according to an Oct. 22 report in Clay Today.
The work took place over the summer break. Along with relocating the books, the project included donating older titles, recataloging the collection and installing shelving, Clay Today reported.
The new space includes beanbags for independent reading, cushions for story time and artwork.
The private Episcopal school, at 156 Kingsley Ave., serves children from prekindergarten for 3-year-olds through eighth grade. It began as a Mother’s-Morning Out program in 1950. Parents expanded it into an elementary school by adding a first-grade class in 1995, according to the school’s history page.
Grace is accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and belongs to the National Association of Episcopal Schools, according to its official school overview.
