Orange Park broke through for its first win of the 2026 football season Sept. 3, beating Atlantic Coast 27-16 at Hoyt B. Cotney Stadium.

The Raiders improved to 1-2 after opening the year with lopsided losses. Head coach Marcus Wimberly's squad had been outscored 87-6 through its first two games, falling 41-0 to Andrew Jackson on Aug. 21 and 46-6 at Oakleaf on Aug. 28.

Offense Explodes After Scoring Just Six Points All Season

The 27 points Sept. 3 more than quadrupled Orange Park's season output entering the game. News4JAX noted before kickoff that the Raiders had managed just six points all season, while Atlantic Coast had yet to score at all.

Stingrays Had Been Shut Out in Both Prior Games

The Stingrays, coached by Tony Gilbert, came in at 0-2 themselves. Atlantic Coast had been shut out in both of its games, including a 50-0 loss to Mandarin in Week 2. The Jacksonville school scored 16 on Sept. 3 but could not keep pace with the Raiders' offense.

Highest-Scoring Game of the Season

Both teams entered the Week 3 matchup searching for answers. News4JAX had predicted a 20-14 Orange Park win. The Raiders exceeded that projection by a touchdown, and the combined 43 points made it the highest-scoring game either team had played in this season.

The Orange Park football program announced the final score on its official X account shortly after the game. No individual statistics or scoring breakdown were available as of Sept. 4.
